How to Decorate a Plain Skirt

Are you starting a new job or heading off to college? Let tired old skirts makeover first day of the new outfit. Renew long or short, form-fitting or flared silhouettes of different decorating ideas. Be inspired and recycle old decorations – and are appliqués, embroidery or heat seals. Just choose the location you want to restyle skirt, open the creative floodgates and let the juices of the design gives new life to the old skirts.

Upholstery

  • Open boat bins and inspiring old or leftover trims. Stitch floral brocade tape along the side seams at the hem or skirt. You can also place the remaining buttons and beads heart pattern and hand sew them onto the front or back pockets. If you have a fine satin ribbon, sew it along the side seam tuxedo-like or stripe around the waistband of the diaper to add definition. And certainly do not allow the leftover lace fabric to collect dust – to create a ruffled skirt and sew it around the hem. Voila! A new look!

 

Appliqués

  • Create original leftover fabric appliqués or cut-out old T-shirt designs. In style trends usually include a raw-edge appliqués naturally curl or fray the time. Create a form – such as flowers, skulls or stars – the width and length of the selected location on your skirt. Cut out the shape and hand sew it to the skirt, leaving a 3/8 inch border curl or fray. You can also add costume accutane jewelry or beads appliqué. Prior to stitch it, stabilize the backside stabilizer sheet – sold embroidery or stitching retailers – tightens the fabric. Stitch-old costume jewelry pieces or beads and hand-stitching on the skirt.

Embroidery

  • Whether free handing embroidery designs or embroidering a separate cloth, skirt design ideas are endless. Choose contrasting or new metallic threads to highlight the skirt panel. Create patterns, flowers, initials, vines, stems, stars or abstract shapes with matching or contrasting thread wheels to make sure the threads do not terminate the time.Choose a decorative stitch or embroidery pattern, and add it around the hem. You can embroider a stitch horizontally, to create a vertical or a stitch floral pattern and thus emphasize the sweep-hem.

Heat-Sealing

  • Just as the appliqué, you can also create your own double-sided heat sealability, fabric glue boards. Cut out the desired shape and to remove the other side of the cover sheet on top of the iron the back side of the fabric of your heat seal. If you are working with a heat sealing rhinestones, stones or pearls, apply them to your hot iron the seam fabric as well. If the skirt is made of delicate textile, cover with heat-seals the protective film prior to their straight skirt as high heat settings may cause damage to the skirt. Remove remaining adhesive sheet cover and apply your heat seal before stepping out of your restyled skirt.
